The Shanghai Restoration Project

IODA is launching a new promotional service for our labels called Promonet. Labels designate tracks as promotracks, and then bloggers and podcasters can browse our catalog, find stuff they like, and then feature it on their blog or in their podcast. We are beta-testing right now, so I figured it was about time for me to post a track. Although I had seen that we were featuring this release, I hadn’t actually listened to any of the tracks until a few minutes ago. It’s a great album and I particularly like this track , "Babylon of the Orient"

And as it happens, Alicia was actually in Shanghai last weekend, making the track even more fitting. So, have a listen – you can download the mp3 above – and then go buy the album on iTunes or listen to it on Rhapsody.

"Fall from Grace"

My company, IODA, is a digital music distributor. We sign up independent labels and the occasional established indie artist (like They Might Be Giants). We get some interesting inquiries from indie ‘artists’ that are, shall we say, a bit less established. Like this one that came in earlier today:

hello, my name is XXXX a producer/rapper hailing from tx. but just moved to las vegas and basically i've been putting alot of time and effort into making a name for myself doing dirty south music, but god has called me to speak a ministriy through my music, i've been saved a while but kind of fell from grace, when i moved to vegas god stripped me of everything my car got repo, no job my music equipment is not working or it got pawned, so i had alot of time to think and talk to god, i know their's room for me somewhere but where is the question, so i'm asking this i have stuff recorded but it's not the music i want to record, but it will give you an idea of my style and technique, all i'm asking is for a chance to change my life to where god wants it, you know how hard it is
